Chris Davidson’s new New Holland tractor helps fundraise for the Great North Air Ambulance

When local contractor Chris Davidson ordered this impressive new New Holland tractor from Lloyd Ltd Carlisle, little did he know it would be used for purposes other than farming. However, Chris decided to use it to help raise funds for the Great North Air Ambulance as a “thank you” for the help they provided after he sustained significant injuries in a quad bike accident on farmland near Dalston earlier this month. Fortunately Chris is on the mend now and will enjoy many hours behind the wheel of this special New Holland Blue Power Edition T7.225 tractor in Maserati Blue throughout the seasons ahead.

A self-confessed machinery enthusiast, Chris spent quite some time putting together the dream specification for his new tractor. “I swotted up on what you can and can’t get and put a lot of thought into what I wanted. The extras I’ve added are really handy, such as a reversing fan, 16 LED lights and electric mirrors. I’ve bought two New Holland tractors from Mark Todhunter at Lloyd Ltd and a lot has changed technology-wise since I got the last one 5 years ago, but I wanted to make the most of this new T7, which is the biggest of the short wheelbase models. The guys at Lloyd Ltd – from Jamie in the workshop to Mark – have gone above and beyond, and have certainly exceeded my expectations. It’s the service that makes the difference – you can’t beat the lads at Lloyd Ltd!”

Needless to say Chris was excited to take possession of this new tractor, but his recent accident meant this had to be delayed. He did, however, still manage to put it to good use as it had pride of place on the Lloyd Ltd stand at the Cumberland Show where it was filled with balloons for a competition to win a toy tractor. Thanks to the many people who took part, £150 was raised for the Great North Air Ambulance which was instrumental in helping Chris following his accident. “I was out in a field over near Dalston and fortunately managed to ring my family for help although I didn’t really know what was going on! They managed to find me, but there was no way a normal ambulance would have been able to get to me so the Air Ambulance was dispatched and got me to the RVI in Newcastle in no time. I’m incredibly grateful for the help they and the staff at the RVI provided so I wanted to give something back and using my new tractor seemed like a great way to raise some much-needed funds.”

Now that Chris is on the mend and has his impressive new tractor he will be out and about on the large dairy farm where he works. With 2,500 acres of grass to mow as well as sowing, ploughing, slurrying and more, this new New Holland will be more than capable of handling any task. In his comfortable cab surrounded by the latest gadgets and gizmos, Chris will be in his element. Everyone at Lloyd Ltd wishes him a speedy recovery and look forward to supporting him and his new tractor over the years ahead.
