INTRODUCING LAWRANCE WHITE, SERVICE MANAGER at Lloyd Ltd Penrith

We are delighted to welcome Lawrance White to be our new Service Manager at Lloyd Ltd Penrith, taking over from Tom Benson who has moved into a consultative role for the group after 46 years in the position.

Lawrance comes from a machinery background having started his career working as a telehandler/tractor operator in the events industry.  More unusually, however, he did this on a seasonal basis through the summers so that he could spend his winters working as a ski instructor in Switzerland, but eventually he returned to work full-time for a plant hire & sales firm, spending six years as their Hire & Marketing Project Co-ordinator.  A move to Cumbria for a lifestyle change to be closer to family coincided with COVID which enabled him to work from home, but Lawrance found that he missed the interaction with people as well as being around machinery day to day so began looking for a job role which would give him that opportunity.

“I saw this position advertised and I was really impressed by what Lloyd Ltd had to offer.  I watched the video about the business and the message from Barry Lloyd about the importance of it being a family-run business and on promoting from within really interested me. There are also many long-standing members of staff and that of course speaks for itself. I have obviously got big shoes to fill after Tom, but he has been so helpful with training me up in the role, and the team at Penrith and across the group have made me very welcome.  I’m looking forward to putting my own stamp on the role and seeing what I can do to help my colleagues and the business.  I’m excited for what this new challenge will bring and am looking forward to getting to know our customers.”
