Lloyd Ltd hosts successful Amazone Tillage Demo Event in Kelso

On Wednesday 18th September, Lloyd Ltd hosted an impressive Amazone Tillage Demonstration Event at Spylaw Farm next to its Kelso branch with kind permission of the Willis family.  Surrounded by the rolling Borders hills, this was the ideal location to showcase Amazone’s range of cultivation machinery.

Throughout the day-long event, a steady stream of customers came to try the different types of Amazone machine for themselves.  Covering the scope of tillage applications, the models included the the all-new UF 1602 mounted sprayer and the UX 5201 trailed sprayer, the 3m Cataya box drill and 3m Centaya Drill, and the Cayros plough. Also in action were the Cirrus trailed drill, Catros disc harrow and the Cenius and Ceus cultivators, all of which were powered by New Holland tractors from Lloyd Ltd, one of the country’s largest blue tractor dealers.

With the help of Amazone’s own professional operators as well as local Lloyd Ltd customer Carroll’s Heritage Potatoes whose driver Chris was behind the wheel of their tractor, customers were treated to both the in-cab experience of using the machines as well as benefiting from product specialists from Amazone, New Holland and Michelin Tyres who were on hand to provide help, advice and walkaround guides to each product.

Stewart Crighton, Lloyd Ltd Kelso’s Dealer Principal commented: “Our partnerships with Amazone and New Holland are key to Lloyd Ltd’s business so this was a great opportunity to demonstrate to our customers the strengths that both brands have to offer and the versatility of their machinery ranges.  We’ve had excellent feedback from our customers who really appreciated being able to try the machines for themselves in a local environment.  The venue was perfect so we are most grateful to the Willis family for letting us use it.   Hopefully this will be the first of many such events as there is no substitute for hands-on experience when choosing a machine.”

Although harvest is just finishing in The Borders at the moment, trying out the Amazone range of cultivation equipment well in advance of next season was perfect timing to plan ahead and understand what machinery solutions will make next year’s crop yield even better.
